29 May Broward Health blows out the candles – 75 of them
Broward County‘s first hospital, Broward Health Medical Center (BHMC), will continue its 75th anniversary celebration with a family-friendly community health and wellness fair. It will take place June 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the BHMC campus in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
Since opening its doors in 1938, BHMC has been a pillar of support to the Broward community, delivering compassionate care and advanced technology within a powerful health care system.
BHMC is now the flagship hospital for Broward Health and is home base to some of the region’s premier cardiac, orthopedic and transplant services.
The wellness fair will feature fun and educational events for the entire family.
Professional football players Dan Carpenter and Brandon Fields will be on hand offering kicking tips. The event will also feature free screenings for adults, including skin and oral cancer (reservations required), body mass index, spirometry, depression and blood pressure. Vision screenings will be available for children, as well as HIV testing (for ages 13 and older).
