30 May National Senior Health and Fitness Day 2013
Wednesday, May 29, 2013, marks the 20th anniversary of the annual National Senior Health & Fitness Day. This inspiring event is celebrated all over the country on the last Wednesday in May. The goal is to promote the importance of regular physical activity and to showcase what local organizations are doing to improve the health and fitness of older adults in their communities. Seniors are encouraged to visit their nearest Florida Blue Center and take part in a day of fun and healthy information. Bring a friend and enjoy complimentary classes, healthy snacks and water. A feel-good smorgasbord of programs chock-full of benefits, it’s definitely worth looking into in your area. Most of those persuaded to participate the first time come back year after year. They find the programs consistently energizing, educational, focused on their interests, and all-in-all a good time!
