When you think of the health care industry in Lee County, it’s easy to think only of the dominant Lee Memorial Health System.
But what about the practices that are not part of Lee Memorial, the so-called “independent” clinics and medical professionals who still account for lion’s share of out-patient business here?
Enter the Independent Physicians Association of Lee County.
The 400-member organization, founded five years ago in response to Lee Memorial’s near-total takeover of the local hospital industry, aims to boost its media and online presence after several years of obscurity.
