University of Miami to build major health center in Coral Gables

The University of Miami Health System is coming to the university’s main campus in Coral Gables in a big way, with groundbreaking planned this summer on a 200,000-square-foot ambulatory care center.

The nonprofit university has been branching out from its medical school campus in Miami’s Health District with outpatient centers across South Florida. Physicians from its core specialty facilities, the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, will work in Coral Gables now.
