One Panama City Woman Inspires Others to Lose Weight

“Just to never give up,” said Natasha Coleman, Senior Health Educator for the Florida Health Department of Bay County. Coleman has been overweight most of her life. By the age of 11, she weighed more than 200 pounds, and as the years went on, the number got higher. The final straw came when Coleman failed to fit into an airplane seat, drawing laughs from some passengers. At more than 430 pounds, she knew it was time for a change.

Slowly but surely, she began a new workout routine, and changed her diet by cutting out fried foods and sugars.

“I lost 40 pounds the first month, that gave me the encouragement to start moving around, so I started walking, I started on the Hathaway Bridge, and at that time I could only walk half way up, and then back down,” stated Coleman.

Like many struggling with weight issues, the journey can be difficult. But Coleman says it is possible.
