High-tech imaging system to help Brooks treat mobility issues

Doctors and physical therapists in Northeast Florida now have a new tool to better diagnose and treat mobility issues.

At an open house at its Memorial Healthcare Plaza location, Brooks Rehabilitation unveiled technology this week that pairs infrared, high-speed cameras with motion sensors placed on the patient to more precisely pinpoint motion-impaired areas as the patient goes through a series of movements.

Those movements are monitored by a health care provider in real time via a virtual 3D image that is mapped to individual markers such as height and weight specific to that person.
