The holidays are a busy time for geriatric care manager Sue Coyle, owner of the Appleton-based Coyle Care Management and Consulting.
Family members who only visit on special occasions sometimes notice changes in the ability of elderly loved ones to take care of themselves and are more likely to call care managers, home care or assisted living to ask about services they provide or to initiate a change.
“I’ll very often meet with families, too, over the holidays while they’re all together,” Coyle said. “I have a current client who I’ve been seeing for months but have communicated with the family mostly via email.”
